FOLIAGE- Clinical Question Answering Skills for Librarians
E-learning 16th June to 11th July
Workshop 23rd June, Education Centre, Birmingham Children’s Hospital

Foliage has been developed in partnership with ScHARR, NLH and the West Midlands.  It builds on the APPLE programme modules.

Foliage is a brand new combined e-learning and face-to-face course designed for NHS library and information professionals who are skilled in literature searching and who wish to build on these skills to develop a high level of competency in clinical question answering. Based on the highly successful FOLIO series of courses, Foliage will provide you with a range of skills essential to developing evidence-based answers to clinical questions, such as filtering, appraising and digesting high-quality literature.

The course is open to anyone who is interested in developing these advanced searching skills. The course will also be useful to anyone who is developing a clinical question and answer service and for the provision of a clinical librarian role

Materials will be delivered via the ‘Moodle’ virtual learning environment and ‘rest days’ are built in. This unique, flexible online format will enable participants to work at their own pace and to fit their learning around their working patterns. Face-to-face workshops will take place across the country to ensure they are as accessible as possible.
